I wouldn't suggest that you wear one of those, but no, mags do not have to be concealed. Neither does your empty holster.
However showing either in public tells everyone that you have a gun in the car (possibly) and if there are any bad guys around they MAY follow you to your next stop and relieve you of your pistol while you are inside shopping! Something to think about.......
