Shot timer question

#1

Post by ScubaSigGuy »

I am looking for a decent shot timer to practice with. Are there any models that are programmable allowing you to time draw to shot string times without a partner?

To clarify what I mean, I am looking for a model which will give you an audible signal to draw (with a built in delay allowing you start hends free) and then time your shots from that audible tone.

Any suggestions to brands and models is appreciated. Thanks,
S.S.G.

I can't really think of any electronic timer these days that won't do what you described. So, take your pick.

This is what I use:

+1 on the PACT Club Timer III. It has most of the whistles and bells at a reasonable price.

I have the ancestor to the MkIV (it's at least 15 yrs old) and it's almost identical in size and shape. If you need/want a combination timer and chrono, then it's an excellent choice. However, the Club Timer is far better ergonomically for one that you will use to run another shooter. If you are going to have it set to a random start and hang it on your pocket, belt, etc., then ergonomics won't really make much of a difference.

If you end up at the main page, just scroll down and click on Dry Fire Drills.

For something very compact, consider the CED7000. It's tiny, inexpensive, and has more features than I'll ever use.
