I'm not normally one to ask for stuff like this but I would certainly appreciate any prayers you care to throw in the direction of our situation.
It's sort of an odd situation actually. My daughter (currently 7.5 yrs) came to me about a year and a half ago and asked if she could move from my X wife's house and in with us because she's tired of the drama and screaming in my X's house. I told her I wanted her to wait a year to really think about it because her mom and her had been going through a rough spot and i didn't want to uproot my daughter just because she was mad at her mom. At the end of the year if she still wanted to move she could do it. I explained the situation and my X agreed.
A year came and the daughter was still saying she wanted to move, but the X decided she didn't want to let the daughter move until school was out. I was a bit miffed but I saw some logic in that and agreed. The X and I just had it out because I refused to take my daughter home early from her Xmas visit and is now saying she "can't trust me to work with her schedule if i'm the primary parent" and is now out-right refusing to let her ever move in with us, much less when school lets out.
Obviously the daughter and I are pretty upset over this, but we don't have the financial resources to fight her for custody at the moment as the wife working temp jobs which are spotty at best right now. For those that don't know, the attorney general will handle all court costs for custody changes for free IF both parents agree to the change.
Let me tell ya, it's pretty difficult to have your child ask you for something and to have your hands tied like that. I've talked to a couple lawyers in my home town about the situation and none of them will even touch a custody case for less than a 5k retainer. That's just not realistic for us right now. I'm hoping the X comes to her senses and will see the light and have a change of heart. She's not a bad person, she just makes bad decisions and has her priorities a bit messed up.

I know what you are dealing with as I have 2x (step)children whos biological father is a real idiot. It takes a real man or woman to ask for prayers for their x like this. I commend you and you have our prayers!

My Son is going through a similar situation with his two daughters. I see what he's going through and everyone suffers from it, including us as Grandparents. You have our prayers for you, your daughter and your wife.

I can only imagine how much it must stink to be in this situation. We will definitely be praying for patience for you, wisdom and understanding for your ex-wife, and safety, peace, and understanding for your precious daughter.
Seven and a half is a hard age to have to wait on things...from what you have said she has been a trooper so far. We will pray that will continue. Keep your chin up and know that God is in control. His plan is not our plan, and many times we cannot see how He is working - - especially where our kiddos are involved and we want immediate action.
Let us know if there are more specific ways we can pray.

I know how difficult these kind of situations can be, however, I am confident in the power of God to do what is right. Keep praying and keep your eyes upon the Lord...He will work it out, in His timing.
God Bless You, and I will be praying for a speedy conclusion to this situation.
