I had a similar experience. My wife submitted our DL changes, and I submitted my CHL 2 days later. Within a week I had the new CHL. It took almost 3 to get the new DL.

Got my updated CHL today, 8 days after I submitted everything online.....still waiting on the DL. For some reason I thought I'd get the DL first and be waiting on the CHL.

My wife and I submitted our drivers' license address change on August 19 at the Texas City location (was also renewal for me) and received the new cards day before yesterday (twenty-seven days).

I submitted our CHL address change on September 8 online and received our new cards yesterday (eight days).

We get to endure the whole process again in January, when I retire and we move to Tyler.

2 quick questions....1) How long do we have as far as grace period, after we move, to change our address, and 2) Is it unlawful to carry before updating your address during the grace period??

Just did both of mine yesterday so we'll see how long it takes.

The lady at DPS told me it would be 8-12 weeks for my DL to come in. Looking at the temporary she printed off for me, it expires in 8 weeks. So if my DL hasn't come in, does that mean I have to go BACK to the DPS and get another temporary until the actual DL comes in? If its taking up to 12 weeks, why give me a temporary that expires before I may get my DL? :bigmouth

I didn't think that you needed to get an updated hunters ed certificate when you changed your address. It's a certification and not a license and has no expiration date... Or so I thought. Looks like I'll need to check this out and make a few phone calls.

Let me know what you find out because I may need to get mine changed if that is the case. I highly doubt that it matters though. Like you said, it is a one time certification.

Um, I'm not sure, but I just figured to get everything uniformed. There's no charge and it's very easy. ;-)
