CHL Status?

#1

Post by kegster »

I checked the status of my application a couple of weeks ago and it said "processing application".

Today I checked it and it says "no application or license/certificate active"

Now what does "or" mean? Is it saying two seperate statements like
"no application" or "no license/certif active"

or is it saying "no app" and "license/cert. active"

Is it active or not?

WOW that is confusing.

It means there is no active license (or instructor's certificate), nor is there an application on file to be processed.

I haven't head of this status being displayed after previously posting that the application was in process. This could simply be an error, but I'd call them right away. Some folks have had pretty quick responses to emails as well.

Good luck,
Chas.

I mailed mine and my wifes app. on 4-13.

I had the return receipt from when DPS received it but got thrown away by mistake.

So from 4-13 add 3-4 days which brings it to 4-17 it has been about 44 days now.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks it'll be here.

My wifes got delayed because they sent her fingerprint cards back. So hers might be another month. :(

There have been far too many "bad fingerprints" excuses lately. I think it's the excuse in vogue. The old "we're running a little behind" excuse ran it's course and had to be replaced.

I know, my cynicism is showing.

Chas.

I dropped mine off at the DPS office on 4-11-05. I emailed the DPS office a couple of days ago they told me they were running about 3 -4 weeks behind. I guess I'll just have to be a little more patient. :(

RoundRock,

I REALLY didn't need to hear that..... :D A friend mailed his in on 3/7/05, they returned it to him because he forgot to sign the line under his picture, he got it 6/1, which doesn't seem like a bad turn around for his error....

So, who will be the first one to get theirs that sent it in around 4/11? There seems to be a few of us............

politely remind them that under the law they have 60days (not counting if your application got sent back to you for whatever reason) and there is no "running a little behind".

they'll probably send your CHL that same day when you tell them that.

That's exactly what happened when my wife and youngest son called and said precisely that.

That's the way it went with mine. I e-mailed and politely said that the 60 days was drawing near. Had it in a little over a week.

Logged on to check the status of my CHL on Sunday (6/12)morning and got "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"...That put me at 63 days from the day I dropped it off in the mail.... They must run a batch job on Sat. nights to update the file, because as of Sat. afternoon my app. was still being processed....
The wait is over.................

Jim, I saw your post so I went and checked mine and it says "still processing". So I called and talked to a lady at DPS. She told me the same thing they did in the email. Hopefully it won't be much longer!
Congratulations!!!!
