Dead Time Between Class And Mailing
How long can you hold your things from class before you send it to Austin and it still be valid. Speaking of renewals if it makes a difference.

The Texas Administrative Code says;
1) Proficiency certificate. The applicant must submit a handgun proficiency certificate issued upon successful completion of a handgun proficiency course approved by the department and taught by a certified handgun instructor. A proficiency certificate, which is more than two years old, will not be accepted by the department.
However, if you wait over a year on renewals you would have to retake the class.

She has to be withen 6 mo's of her expiration date to renew and it will take approx. 60 days to reissue yours, that's very close.
You might have to sit in on the class twice, I let people do that when I have room, I do the same for someone who wants a refresher or just wants to learn, no charge if they are not applying for a license.

We may have to come see you. I was hoping we could take the class and she could just hold her paper work for about 3 months.ElGato wrote:She has to be withen 6 mo's of her expiration date to renew and it will take approx. 60 days to reissue yours, that's very close.

You should both pick up Utah permits to hold you over between TX renewals. They are cheap and will be sent out quick since you have a TX CHL.carlson1 wrote:Help me solve this problem. My wife will not take her class unless she goes with me. My CHL experies in August and hers in January. How can we take the class together without my license expiring at all?
