Uptown Liquor Store offers 10% Discount w/ CHL

#1

Post by {TEX}Hawaii 99 »

I was presently surprised this evening when visiting the local liquor store....Their sign offered a 10% discount for those with a CHL. I showed mine and saved about $4 tonight.

I don't like strangers knowing I have a CHL. Most of my friends don't know. Only family, a few really close friends, and you guys.

Wish this was in San Angelo. Ok. So I have a question that I should probably know from class, but lets just say my instructor was not that great, and I actually corrected him a few times in his error (Thanks to the up to date info on this forum). If a liquor store is improperly posted--gun buster signs-- can I walk in? Pinkie's, a liquor store here in San Angelo has gun buster signs on the doors, but they are not even close to 30.06 compatable. Of course they generate 51% from liquor, but it can not be consumed on their property.... Someone yell at me for asking a stupid question and give me the answer :smash: :nono: and then :cheers2:

It's not something I advertise, but I've spent the last 7 years in Georgia where I bounced back and forth from concealed to open carry. The cashier was the only one to see and nothing was said. Most of my friends have CHLs. Not really a big deal for me.

Gun busters don't matter with a CHL, 51% of sales only matters if it is for on premises consumption. If you see a 51% sign then the odds are that they are a 51% location, if you see an "unlicensed possession ..." sign and no 30.06/51% then you can carry. If you see both an "Unlicensed possession..." and a 51% then you have to use your own judgement and please contact the TABC to report the location so they can clear up the issue.

Just a couple of circle-slash gun signs on both doors, and of course the unlicensed possesion signs on the doors.

Ahh someone from the Department of Redundancy Department must have visited them and ensured they were in compliance.

You will see it on here many times... Gunbuster signs do not apply to anyone with a CHL so...

Oops. I didn't make this clear. I know gunbuster signs are a joke. My question was if the liquor store in general was off limits in the same way that say.. a courthouse is.

No it has a "Blue" sign that only prohibits unlicensed carry. As long as there is no 30.06 you're good. :thumbs2:

You have a license so it is not unlicensed carry. 51% is only if consummed on premise.
You can ignore the blue signs but always remember concealed is concealed. You don't want to make a clerk nervous.

Consume at home and never carry while or after drinking. Stay safe.

Keystone Light??! really if you are going to drink less expensive beer make it a Lonestar -
On that note I think CHL needs an official Beer for example:

Shiner Bock the official beer of gun totin Texans
