I have a new FORT KNOX safe that I use for all our guns. I've taken all the necessary precautions but I have one question. In the unlikely event that my wife & I end up helplessly on the wrong side of some thugs gun and he is demanding that the safe be opened, what can we do to stay alive and still not comply with his demands?? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: I need Gun Safe advice
If it's an electronic safe, maybe rig a secret button that turns it off? I think all the safes that I've seen that would qualify as Ft Knox have a way to get in even without a battery though. I dunno... Then there's that whole "can't prove a negative" thing... If some thug is convinced you can open it, about the only way to prove to them that they're wrong is to take the bullet without opening it (and even then they'll probably just think that you could've opened it, but didn't really think you'd get shot or something).
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Re: I need Gun Safe advice
I have also thought about this and the best idea I have come up with is:
#1> Carry 24/7 to avoid this situation.
#2> I believe if this ever did happen I would claim it is not my house and I am visiting from out of town.
...but I would love to hear some better ideas.
