Gun Range Mesquite
I am going to go there today around 2:00p and check it out. I haven't seen any posts about this range anywhere but I have noticed it a couple of times.
Re: Gun Range Mesquite
I'd like to hear your opinion. For me it has been years since I was there. The environment was a bit quirky. Hopefully it has changed. I'v driven to Garland and support their business. They are still having issues but it is closely monitored and well organized.
Re: Gun Range Mesquite
Well, how was it ? We'd appreciate your thoughts.

Are you talking about the indoor range on I30? My wife a I were there about that time, my first visit, and thoroughly enjoyed the time. I'm new to the sport though and have only been to 3 ranges in DFW.

Did not go. My 12 year old daughter had a volleyball tourney in the area and I was all loaded and set to go but her team didn't do so well and we left early. I really did not have time to go.
Also I think that was the last time the tournament is up that way. Since I live in Fort Worth I most likely won't go up that way just to shoot holes in paper.
Sorry guys

Re: Gun Range Mesquite
As I said in an earlier post, I've only been to three ranges once each. Here are my impressions of the place known as Gun Range Mesquite near 635 on IH 30. Compared to the range at Targetmaster in Garland, it was much more bright, much cleaner, and much more tightly controlled. At Targetmaster there were IMHO far too many people in the range area, I don't believe that would be allowed at the GRM. I qualified for CHL at Extreme Defensive in Royce (sic) City which is an outdoor range and not really comparable. At GRM I had to sign a waiver and acknowledgement of range rules. Since we were obviously newbies, we were given a quick test of the rules we just agreed to, nothing not covered in CHL training. We shot on a Sunday afternoon, and there was no waiting for a range and no crowding.
Bottom line, if it has been raining recently at Extreme Defensive, you will get muddy, at Targetmaster on weekends you will be crowded, at Gun Range Mesquite, it costs about $4 more per person and you get monitored closely by a range officer.
Hope that review helps.
