ATI 1911's, Are they Junk?
Does anybody have any experience or carry a 1911 made by American Tactical? I just got an American Tactical 1911 from my wife and I have never heard of these guys. All I know is that it’s made in the Philippines. Is it a keeper for the EDC Rotation or a “Throw-A-Way” gun? I would appreciate any info and also, does anybody know if I could swap better 1911 parts in?

No personal knowledge, but I know a guy who carries one. He says they are of fair quality. I'd run a couple hundred rounds through it before adding it to the carry rotation, just to make sure it is reliable, but after that, I'd have no problem carrying one.

Try an aggressive break in with it. If you can go 500-600 rounds without a problem, you should be good to go for edc.
100 then clean it
100 don't clean it, store it for a week or two
200 then clean it
100-200 of the highest pressure rounds that the gun will take
