Nobody but Art Acevedo
https://www.click2houston.com/traffic/1 ... ting-child
A 18 year old driver zoom passed a stopped school bus. The man has been arrested.
I’m glad they finally caught this idiot. Throw the book at him.
The video the mom took went viral.
Mom, in the future, hold on the video, cross the street and walk your child across, please.
Art Acevedo takes the opportunity to get some camera time and decides to lecture to us citizens about driving.
He admits that his officer’s didn’t initially take this report of passing a school bus as seriously as they should have.
He doesn’t say anything about guns or his officer’s shooting two homeowners to death, but decided to talk about the death of the Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker in California. He did not mention the Porsche, the race car driver was driving, has been described as a widow maker and has been involved in a number of fatalities, even on the racetrack. In addition, the tires were more than five years old and were hard and had no stick left.
This follows his own collar and arrest of a street racer he saw a few weeks ago.
Also, he did not mention he made an illegal turn downtown, a while back and hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk, breaking his leg. No he did not have lights and siren on. He was not ticketed.

Re: Nobody but Art Acevedo
police Chief Art Acevedo said during a news conference That the gangs in Houston only shoot each other and the city was safe. He said this when asked about our very high gang rating. I’m confused

Prayer works. The four abandoned the SUV when it ran out of gas and soon after encountered a priest in the parking lot of his church. They beat the man and took two cellphones from him, the chief said. At one point, the priest was on his knees praying when one suspect attempted to shoot him twice, only to have the weapon misfire on both occasions, he said.

Acevedo is a communist doing his part to bring down the country and enact the socialist agenda.

Art Acevedo blasts Senators and the NRA, "who side are you on", after Houston HPD Sargent is murdered by a man with a lengthy criminal record.
Art has decided to make the tragic death of a good guy, a political statement.
So I will ask the question. Art how is it that he had a gun since he was a criminal? Did you let your own officer down by allowing him to have a gun?
So do you really want only criminals and the police to have guns? How will this make it better for the police?
Will this make it better for me? Or will we become Mexico? Is that your goal?

The Houston Police Officers Union has written a letter objecting to the actions of Chief Art Acevedo after the death of the Seargent and hijacking the solemn moment to go political about guns.philip964 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 1:50 pm https://www.khou.com/article/news/local ... 30a9d2dec6

The chief’s comments have gone around the world being repeated hundreds of times in news webs far and wide.

Little more, but not much, in this ABC13 article about the Houston Police Officers' Union president's (Joe Gamaldi) message to union members. In part: "The fact that Chief Acevedo chose that moment to make a political statement on guns is nothing short of offensive and inappropriate."philip964 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 11:59 pm The Houston Police Officers Union has written a letter objecting to the actions of Chief Art Acevedo after the death of the Seargent and hijacking the solemn moment to go political about guns.

While Acevedo rants and rails at the NRA and demands legislation, it turns out the murderer, Arturo Solis, had a 2015 domestic violence conviction, so it was already illegal for him to own a firearm. I'm certain that additional legislation would have done the trick. I mean, we shouldn't have to worry about enforcing existing laws when we can always add new ones, right? And it's clearly the fault of the NRA and state senators that Solis had a gun, right? Not the criminal justice system which includes Acevedo himself and the revolving-door policies of DA Kim Ogg, right?
