Re: Live in Houston, love guns, 1 position available
Y'all, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a great team and serve an excellent clientele. This is my current position being filled as I am moving on to continue my career in another field. I learned of my position through this forum and we would like to keep it "in the family" if possible ...

Re: Have firearm related manufacturers been silent?
Actually, with SHOT show wrapping up I have to agree with the OP that much of the industry is very quiet right now. You have seen a few new products revealed but this week in Vegas was the perfect time for the industry to communicate what is happening, and there wasn't much of that. I suppose that ...

Re: Potential Bans Impact on PPO and CSO
If I recall, there were absolutely no concessions given to private security personnel during previous bans. Thus, the magazines say "For Law Enforcement and Government Use Only" with no mention of security officers. IF that sort of ban were to be put into place, theoretically, you would no longer be ...

Re: Volunteer School Defense Forces?
I'm suprised to see it hasn't already been mentioned, but what of a Peace Officer's DUTY to act in the presence of crime? I think the intentions are noble, but the peace officer route may not be the best. It is not a simple avenue to provide additional armed presence in a school setting, it opens up ...

Re: Wounded Warrior Project - Anti2A Org
I am part of a group that used to do an annual fundraiser for WWP. This year they informed us we had to pay them $100 for the "rights" to fundraise for them and use their logo. Ridiculous. Needless to say, we selected a new charity (Special Operations Warrior Foundation) that was VERY happy to ...

Re: Moving to Katy -ish
I concur, Cinco Ranch will provide the closest to your requirements. Easy access to the Westpark Tollway, good schools, quiet neighborhoods, you will like it. If you are looking a little more remote, you could check out Brookshire as well. They are building like crazy all over the place there now ...

Re: Petraeus resigns
He can be subpoenaed by congress? So could Holder, how much closer to the truth did that get us?
There will be no truth to come out of these hearings. Period. Accept it.
It is a shame that honorable men (or women) who accept responsibility for a mistake such as an affair are villified and lose ...

Obtain and maintain similar proficiency with that lever gun as you have with that AR. With all of the proposed anti-assault weapon madness in the air, the old Appalachin Assault Rifle may come in real handy! Nice pic by the way.

Re: Recommend me a shotgun
Good luck finding a KSG that isn't priced at nearly double the retail price. Remington 870 or Mossberg 500/590 is my best suggestion for a home defense shotgun, with my personal preference being the Mossberg also, due to the placement of the safety. Do you use a shotgun for anything other than HD ...
Re: Best MRE?
Are you opposed to freeze dried options? They will be lighter and take up far less room in your BoB. Yes, you will need a filter for water to rehydrate the meals, but you already have one of those, right?

Re: Am I paranoid?
I tend to share the concerns of the OP, and feel that the info that Kythas just brought up tends to reinforce my concern. If you look back to the LA Riots, there was no socia media and cell phones were still out of grasp for most folks. Somehow, people still had no problem spreading the word and ...

Props to the Port Authority PD for not shooting up the place while attempting to safe the pistol!
