I settled for both, full size 1911 double stack .45 14 +1
This setup preferred by crazy2medic would seem to offer the most in a handgun, in terms of:
1. maximizing the diameter and frontal area of each cartridge;
2. maximizing the weight of each cartridge's bullet (for defensive carry, I ...

Re: Man shot in leg at Sig Sauer's training facility
It would be interesting to learn what type of holster the person was using, whether he/she was using an overgarment, etc.
Also, I have observed how some individuals can get into a hurry to holster their handguns in a group training environment, so as not to be perceived as holding back the rest of ...

Re: Smart Guns
To be consistent, I have to conclude that this so-called "smart gun" technology in and of itself is just as morally neutral as the millions of conventional firearms that are already in general circulation among criminals, police, military and law-abiding citizens alike, and that are here to stay and ...

When I buy pseudoephedrine, I always tell them my supply of diethylamine ran out so I had to switch to "shake and bake" for my basement meth lab. :biggrinjester:

Re: Guns + Roommates using Marijuana
I think I could enforce a "no marijuana in the living room/common areas" policy however.
Also, if you have any other roommates besides the potheads, I would suggest you get them on board with enforcing no use in the common areas. Maybe this could be the first step in running the potheads off the ...

Re: Guns + Roommates using Marijuana
Getting out of there and away from the pothead roommates would be the best way to handle the situation, but finding the next place to stay and breaking the lease clearly present some immediate problems.

Re: Do you wear gloves when cleaning your guns?
One contribution I would like to make to this thread (sorry if someone already posted it) is to post this link to a glove manufacturer's guide for selecting gloves based upon chemical compatibility. This will help a user to:
1. Look up the MSDS for a given cleaning product, lubricant or whatever ...

Re: Revolver help
Ive got the 642 smith. If your looking for a pocket gun its a great choice. I had a 340pd awhile back. Its was absolute bloody finger punishment to put 50 rounds of 357 blazer thru it. And keep in mind that majority of folks who have a small 357 only load it with 38. So keep that in mind as price ...

Re: Revolver help
The S&W 640 may fit your criteria also, as its hammer is fully covered and it can shoot both .357 Magnum and .38 Special, and is definitely pocket-carry capable in the right holster. However, it is heavier than the model 642, and will probably be more expensive than the Taurus that atx2a mentioned.

Re: Questions about your religion from strangers
As other posters have stated earlier in this thread, there is a wide breadth of context when a stranger enquires about one's own religion.

Re: Traveling to South Padre, what about CBP
Personally the only answer I give is that I am an American Citizen...At the actual border is a completely different story.
If you have a USA passport or passport card, show it to CBP as proof of USA citizenship, with the right to be anywhere within USA borders, end-of-story.

If I were a LEO I would never eat at a restaurant while in uniform.
That would be one way of avoiding what happened in the incident described.
Alternatively, if the officer had ordered his lunch inside the Subway restaurant, he could have observed the food being prepared and filled his beverage ...

This may have been already posted somewhere else on this forum, but apparently this file is being distributed by DPS through LTC instructors for review by new LTC applicants.

Can we OC in a drop leg?
I am not a LTC instructor, lawyer, or expert on this matter. However, my input would be that:
1. I did a search for the word "belt" in Chapter 46, Texas Penal Code (Weapons), and did not find language actually defining what constitutes a belt holster.
