Re: 721 & 722 Shooters?
My first centerfire rifle was a 722 in 257 Roberts and it is still my favorite. I bought it in 1959 from a gunsmith friend who I worked for at his range when I was not working for my dad or other farmers. Minimum wage was 50 cents an hour at the time. Roy Vinson, the owner, had built this for his ...

Re: What are you currently reading?
You guys made me go back and re-read "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. I had it on my I pad and since I cut my big toe open and had to stay close to the barn today, I read it again. Still worth my time. I am collecting several WWI histories, some already read, to keep up with grandson who is ...

Re: Wife Stalked by Police?
In the last few years I have crossed into Canada multiple times and at all smaller crossings, I am asked If I have guns in the truck. This is true with Texas plates and also Oklahoma plates in a friend's truck, as well as our passports making us Texans or Okies . At smaller border crossing we have ...
Re: Allowance
My children all had household jobs and as soon as they could see over the steering wheel of a tractor had jobs on the farm. All three of them worked all the time they attended College. When they started having children, I left it up to them how they would teach their children about work and ...

I will withhold real names in this story because it might cause extreme kidding to the person involved or even keep him from being promoted in rank.

Re: DEVOTION--a story of friendship and sacrifice from Korean Conflict
Interesting side note: I loaned this book to an 85 year old Korean vet buddy--the best fishing and camping friend a man could ever want. He said it made him cry because he remembered the lost friends, but in the end he was glad that someone told this story--he said he had never heard it before. He ...

DEVOTION--a story of friendship and sacrifice from Korean Conflict
I read every day and especially enjoy history and stories about what has made the US great for generations. This is my best read in non fiction in a long while.

Re: Debating on a new 1911
I have Colts, Springers, Kimbers, RIA in the stable and I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry often and think it is great--never had a hickup after I bought it used. I think Springer is a great value and I drool over some of my 80+ year old Colts.

Re: small but not light weight gun in 9mm?
My wife was carrying EDC a SIG 238 but when the 938 came out, I had to buy her one. Both of us think it is an easily carried pocket or lady carry, but it is a pleasure to shoot. Hers feeds everything we load into the mag, even handloads. Youngest daughter now owns the 238,

Re: Pocket Carry: What Do You Do?
I pocket carry often with cargo pants or shorts or on days like today my Roundhouse overalls that I selected for big pockets. I use well made leather holsters designed for the gun I am carrying. I pocket carry several different pistols--J frame 38 revolver, Colt Mustang, Sig 938 (good choice), and ...

Re: Starting AR15 Build - Looking For Advice
By all means build it yourself. There is no better way, short of an armorers course to become familiar with a given firearm platform. I suggest start with any name brand lower parts kit and build the rifle. Then you can research triggers and try others builds at the range and add whatever upgrades ...

Or SA could be situational awareness!!! My wonderful wife hates all abbreviations as there are so many specific to a job, field of study, or hobby. Me I just use them to keep her heart working.

Re: The thread where we thank Mr. Cotton
A Texas size thanks for Charles, Alice and Tara. We did not pitch a no hitter, but we were on the score board and did it positively. Makes all those faxes, calls and emails worth all the effort. Without the help from Charles, TSRA and the NRA we would not have known when and to whom to contact. Keep ...
