My timeline

I have fought off posting this.........

2/10 - took class
2/13 - mailed application
2/20 - packet received in Austin
3/9 - PIN letter dated
3/22 - PIN letter received
3/23 - online status "processing application"

No change since then..........................

Yes, I remember that you do not have to notify if you are not carrying, however, the officer would be aware that you have a permit and might be nervous about not being informed.

I checked my application status today and it said "processing application"

In a few days it should say soemthing to the effect of "application completed - permit issued". What would happen if you were pulled over by an officer prior to receiving your plastic, you were not carrying, yet when he ...

Big day today, went to Bullettrap to shoot.

Then I got the mail and my PIN number is there., it has my application #, everything. THE DPS website shows "processing application", must be getting close. Is it time to buy a IWB holster? :lol:

I recently took my class at Bullet Trap in Plano. Mailed in my packed in Feb and received confirmation that Austin received it. I went to the DPS website to check status and then realized I need to know the CHL license (application) #.
