Procedure to complain about invalid 51% sign

Sometimes business post the wrong TABC sign because TABC sends them both signs
and the employees can't tell one from the other.

You can complain to the TABC about this. First, verify the type of license that they have (and
get their license number, usually MBxxxxxx for Mixed Beverage Permit ...

Re: What happens when you grab the slide of firing gun

He stovepiped something in the chamber and that took the gun out of battery.
Then he grabs the slide over the top as if this latter action kept the gun
from going off.

A range owner showed me once that if (the person on the wrong end of the gun) pushed
the slide back enough to take the gun out of ...

Texas HB 2405 filed proposing major 30.06 sign changes

Greetings:

Few bills that are filed in the Texas Legislature ever become law but HB 2405 filed this week
would significantly change the 30.06 sign as we know it.

The short of it is that the DPS would promulgate a new 30.06 sign that is letter-sized
and printable from the DPS website

Re: Disarming in your daily routine

I have a paddle holster that is relatively easy to remove and put back on.
Sometimes I remove the gun while still in the holster to keep the trigger covered
while handling it. This method I use when I need to have my shirttail tucked in
when I go in (with the ammo in my pocket as below but not in a ...

Re: School Premises

C-dub is spot on about the highlighted text in the definition of "premises".

The conservative way to follow this definition is to stay in the area that is NOT included.

The definition suffers from "underlap" - no mention of the grounds between the building
and the parking lot/sidewalk.

As far as ...

Re: Carry 'around the house'?

Orions':

I believe in the "why not" school of gun carry. You're in your driveway, unknown car pulls up, where's your gun?

That being said, I never open carry for tactical reasons. Why give your opponent the heads up
to rethink his plan and ambush you?

Around the house and yard (and in fact ...

Re: School Premises

RetNavy:

My personal carry choice for school pickup (if I had to get out of the car) was to distinguish
"exterior sidewalks" from "interior sidewalks".

I chose to wait on an exterior sidewalk that was connected to the parking lot even if I was
not parked on that front row. Sometimes I waited at ...

Thanks again, c-dub!

This forum is really outstanding with genuinely concerned law-abiders.
I'm still getting used to the threading part.

Re: Is this 30.06 sign posted at Wholefoods compliant?

Thanks Keith, but wouldn't that make every printed matter "contrasting colors"?

Regretably, the DPS does not promulgate the signs; also, there probably is no
Texas case law on this.

At a minimum, I do understand the principle of - you can beat the rap but not the ride.

Re: Is this 30.06 sign posted at Wholefoods compliant?

If you see a "real" 30.06 sign it is the lettering that is contrasting
as between English and Spanish, generally the English in one color
and the Spanish in the other

The statute calls for a "sign posted on the property that...
includes the language described in paragraph a...

Re: Is this 30.06 sign posted at Wholefoods compliant?

The 30.06 sign must be in "contrasting colors".

The 30.06 required language in the English and Spanish are in the SAME color, not
contrasting.

The rest of the sign "contains" contrasting colors but the rest of the sign has nothing
to do with 30.06.
