Good Midsize Carry

I recently received my license a couple weeks ago and have carried IWB a few times. I'm carrying a Ruger 9E, which is the only pistol I have atm, and it is comfortable in the holster I have but it's a little on the big side. It is 7.5" L and 5.5" H. I've shot my friends M&P Shield a few times and I ...

Frequency of status changes

Out of curiosity, not impatience, how often do status changes occur? Is it in real time, once every hour, once a day? I'm sitting at 5 weeks and 2 days atm since receiving my confirmation email and I'm sure my status change is coming soon. :thumbs2:

Re: Open vs concealed; Which is accepted more?

What do you own now if I may ask ? Best way to know is to buy a holster for what you currently have, wear it around the house and see how comfortable you think you would be with it. After taking the class and while waiting on plastic, I started to do this and its what helped me decide to go sub ...

What brand of holsters would you recommend for either concealed or open?

Re: Open vs concealed; Which is accepted more?

[quote=Have you tried a mid-sized Glock, like the Glock 19 or 23? Might be a compromise between size & ability to conceal. Or, depending on your body size, the full size you already own may be easier to conceal than you think.[/quote]

Haven't looked at a Glock. Not with the intent to carry anyways ...

Re: Open vs concealed; Which is accepted more?

Thanks for the replies. I'm mainly asking because I would like to carry a full size pistol over a compact one. Most compact pistols I've held/shot always seem to be too small for my hands. For instance, my friend's wife has an M&P Shield and my pinky hangs off the bottom of the mag well making it ...

Open vs concealed; Which is accepted more?

In your experience, have you seen more 30.06 or 30.07 signs? Just sent in documents for license and trying to decide if I'd rather open carry or conceal.

Re: Just sent in documents; Excited but...

As for the person who said something along the lines of "Idk how you'd lose your job," Idk about you but my work isn't going to like it when I tell them I'll be in jail for an indefinite amount of time. Even if I was able to post bail or matters were resolved quickly, I would more than likely be ...

Re: Just sent in documents; Excited but...

I agree it is serious and, like I said, I would never want to be in that situation where I might have to possibly take another person's life. The instructor did speak about conflict resolution and to not draw unless your life is on the line but I think it's possible to be extremely serious without ...

Just sent in documents; Excited but...

I finally took my course and received my certification. Just sent in all the paperwork to DPS and have already done the app/fingerprints. I've been excited for a long time about this and am hoping the wait isn't too long!

That being said, the LTC course I took was a little.... dark. I know it's the ...

Re: Employment Address for Working from Home

I would use the employer's HR address. When it comes down to it, that's where DPS would want to contact them anyway, I would think.

I work from home 99% of the time, and I always use my company's HR address for such things -- it's always worked out well for me.

:iagree: completely. They need ...

Re: Court can't provide copy of disposition

If it's sealed, you wouldn't have had to wait the 5 years, BTW.

I believe that only applies if the case is expunged. Mine wasn't expunged just sealed.
