Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
I have same experience. I scheduled to take test on Saturday for Technician. While I learned on Thursday, after calling to one of VE that I can take General and Extra test without additional cost. I spent Friday reading the question pools for General, and I passed.

Re: School Grounds but Not School Sponsored
This is also my understanding. However, tricky thing is, as soon as some school activity shows up, you need to leave.
Since it's not a school sponsored event, and it's not 'on the premises( building or portion of a building), it would not be illegal. Premises are defined in 46.035

Re: HB560 and HB1911 in Same Session
The way I read it.
HB560 amended section 46.15 (a), which related places guns are forbidden. Exception of 46.02 and 46.03
while HB1911 amended section 46.15 (b), which means carry handgun is legal. Exception of 46.02 only.
The way the constitutional carry bill is worded, basically every time ...

Airport secured area is part of 46.03. Does this mean this Bill allow carrying into secured area of airport?
I just completed a detailed analysis of HB560 and it is an excellent bill! I'll do a separate TFC Tex. Leg. Report on that Bill.
It puts LTC's in the TPC §46.15(a) "not applicable ...

Re: One week print pending, anticipation is killing me.
I have been in that status for couple of months. In my case, I'm green card holder, so there are extra steps to verify that document, but the system shows every other things are passed.

It takes some time, but eventually got it.
Here is some suggestion for those wait a long time. I initially waited 6 weeks and no progress. So I called customer service, it turns our DPS ignored one document I sent. DPS thought I did not send, so case is pending, while actually the file is sent on ...

"Print Pending" is not reliable. I have been in that state for 2 months. I called , actually, they overlooked one of my document.

I think I'm stuck with a strange status. It shows "print pending" for more than 3 weeks. Well, I'll be patient.

Re: "Waiting Room"
I believe also it's a manual update process.
I think I'm a exception, my background check is finished on 6/28, and shows "print pending" since then, Still no update till today 7/18 almost 3 weeks.
Just wanted to put some random thoughts together based on some of the questions I had (and those of ...
