Re: Climate Change: take my test
While these are accurate statements, there are countless chemicals that are safe at minute levels in the human body yet even at sub-percent increases become fatal. We're looking at trace chemical that has increased by more than 1/3 of it's original recorded level. For comparison's sake, we're ...

Yes all this fuss is over CO2 in the atmosphere increasing from .0300% to now .0406% per NASA 's website. ( I currently don't particularly trust NASA's website, sad I know)
Understand if CO2 drops below .0100% all life on Earth dies, including all liberals, pandas and kittens.
So when you see ...

Re: Alice Cooper? You've Got to Be Kidding!!
I'll admit that I asked a loaded question that I knew the answer to. My purpose in asking was to get people to think about that phrase since it is overused and thrown out frequently. I am actually surprised how many people could back it up with scripture.
That's fair. I had to write a paper on it ...

"Love the Sinner; Hate the Sin"
Where do people get that from, what biblical reference? I hear that stated a lot but wondering what it's based on.
While it's not a statement from Scripture, Christ said very clearly that loving your neighbor was second only to loving God himself. There is NO ...

Re: Texas Illegal Knife Bill unanimously passes out of committee.
It was even worse before the knife preemption law was passed. In some areas even a lock-blade was illegal.
Just as a crow-bar or baseball bat are deadly weapons with the right intent, so can be a knife. I happen to be a big fan of knives, straight razors, shuriken (aka throwing stars/spikes) and ...

But right now, an over zealous LEO, and prosecutor, could potentially ruin someone's life if they have a machete in their vehicle, and can't convince them it was for a legitimate purpose.

Re: Alice Cooper? You've Got to Be Kidding!!
Vincent Furnier is, from all accounts, a loving brother in the Lord. He spends more time in acts of charity these days than he does in character as Alice Cooper. Many of us had wild days as a teen and young adult, his just happened to be recorded. Having always been a fan of hard rock, Alice cooper ...

Re: SB 88- Making red light camera tickets illegal
Unless policy has changed, which is possible, Pasadena teaches in their academy that if the front bumper "Breaks the Plane of the intersection" before the light turns red, you have not run the red light.
In case you are wondering, BTDT with PPD. Former LEO. Many years ago.
That's right ...

Re: SB 88- Making red light camera tickets illegal
Get rid of ALL of them!!! Complete revenue grab. Do a bit of research; most are issued for failure to come to a complete stop while turning right on a red light. No danger to anyone, but annoying and expensive for those who choose to pay them....

Re: Definition of fascist by Google vs Merriam Webster
The best simple definition I've used (teaching 5th grade students) is "Communism forces all to be equal, Fascism forces out all who aren't." That being said, every communist and fascist regime has shared elements of the other. In philosophy they are polar opposites, but in practice they begin to ...

Re: HB435 Volunteer Emergency Svces Carrying
Carve outs that have been given to attorneys, judges, ect. have not eventually been granted to us "less than equal" LTC holders. If there were carve outs that later led to expanded general rights, then I would be on board with this form of incrementalism.
You and I are in absolute agreement ...

Re: Definition of fascist by Google vs Merriam Webster
While I'm not trying to stir the pot or defend the deterioration of American English, the definition has merit when you look at the roots of "right wing" and "left wing". During the French revolution, parliament members would group together according to political perspective. Those on the left were ...
