WTB: RIA 5" 1911 OWB Leather Holster

I recently traded for/purchased a Rock Island Armory 5" 1911. I'm looking for a good, used, OWB leather holster. While holsters specifically made for RIA firearms are hard to find, I've been told that holsters made for a full size Colt 1911 or Kimber 1911 would fit. Color(black or tan) is really not ...

Re: RIA 1911 Holster

Thanks a lot for the input. I kind of figured as much, but thought it couldn't hurt to ask.

RIA 1911 Holster

I'm about to acquire a 5" Rock Island Armory 1911. My question is this: when is comes to holsters, are all 1911's the same? Will a holster that fits a 5" Kimber 1911 also fit my 5" RIA 1911? I'm asking because a few of the websites that I buy holsters from ask for the type of gun, then give ...

Re: Are you able to carry on your job site and do you?

I work for an Oil/Gas company in Plano, TX. The company was acquired by another company about 6 months ago. When I started working, I asked for a current company handbook. Because of the change, non has been provided as of yet. Because of that, I carry every day on my ankle. I feel safe, and ...

Re: Good stop in Fort Worth....

I was in the final 5 minutes of a trip back from Houston yesterday. The whole trip had been done at around 80-85 mph(I hate driving distances)with no problems. As I'm coming over a hill(I was told later at 78 mph), I see him at the bottom. All I needed to see were his brake lights come on and I ...

Re: Finally!!!

According to the website, my Application was completed last monday. Since then, the peak of my day has been when I see the mail truck coming down the street, and the low point has been when I didn't find my license in the mail. I called today, 10 days since completion, and was told that the license ...

It's official....

My application is complete. I am now one of the good guys. I'm not sure of the timeline because I gave up keeping track after a while. Now I'm waiting on the mailman. It sure feels good to know that I can defend myself and my wife now.

I got my application back about a week and a half ago because I forgot to sign one of the papers. I talked to a lady on the phone and she told me that once they receive the completed packet, the 60 day clock begins. It's been about 10 days, and my online status still says "Packet Incomplete ...

Well, I checked my online status a few days ago, and it had changed from 'Packet Mailed to Applicant' to 'Application Incomplete-Missing Information'. I called and was able to get through, and the lady told me that I had forgotten to sign one page. What a bummer. I got the sheet in the mail ...

There are no restrictions on Peace Officer carry in Texas regarding open/concealed, in uniform/no uniform, on/off duty.

Question for Micten2; what is a standard LEO holster?

I guess when I said 'standard LEO holster', I expect to see a black holster with some sort of retention device. Thinking ...
