Well guys, I'm not ready to give up my seat just yet, but my status changed last night from Processing to Complete. I'm going to move my chair closer to the mailbox, guess I'll be going home at lunch every day this week until I get that wonderful Package from Austin! Hope y'all get your license soon ...

So i sign in the Texas DPS website for the 30,000 time this morning with little hope of seeing a change and TA DA finally Application Completed - license issued or certificate active. Now the wait for the mailman weee

That is really strange. I'm in Lubbock as well and I haven't received any call like that and our dates are only a few days apart. Just out of curiosity, what "neighboring county" was it? If you don't want to say in open forum I understand, but since we're pretty close here I'd like to be on ...

Well I religiously check the DPS website everyday just hoping to see any update in my status and it drives me crazy to see processing application everyday.

My employer decided to help me out with that by scheduling me to be out of town two weeks straight in the middle of September to be followed by ...

I promised I'd report back this week. I did my daily check of the dps website and found my status to be "processing application". That's only 7 days after they've received it!!! At least some process must have changed that they are opening their mail sooner and getting it entered into the system ...

I certainly hope this is what that means!!! DPS receieved my application 8/13/08 I'll check online middle of next week and see if I've moved to the processing stage. Then I'll report back!

Love this knife! When not at work, I carry it often cross draw or reverse grip strong side 'concealed'. I don't use the 'holster' with it. It stays put just as well between my belt and pants. Otherwise, I have a good CRKT folder

I was hoping for a group consensus. I was planning on purchasing a Ka-Bar TDI 2 15/16" knife to carry in an ankle holster.

I have read over and over and over the Texas code on illegal knives and I am still not sure if its a legal knife or not in Texas.

Hey Jet4, where did you take your CHL Class? I took mine Saturday at Patriot Firearms. We had 15 people in our group.

I'll join y'all too in the waiting room. I took my turnkey class on August 9th and I sent my packet to DPS on 8/11. I applied online so here's to hoping that things are speeding up down at the DPS.
