Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

Well, it look like I might get my plastic in time for Christmas! I can taste the Wally World nachos already!

Package received by DPS 10/30
License issued 12/21

It has been 4 weeks since DPS received my application and the status has now changed to "Processing Application".

I must be getting closer!

I know USPSA has a 2008 rule book in the works, but is there anything new brewing for IDPA? I can't find any reference to one on the web.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but before I invest in any new gear I want to be sure it is IDPA legal.

Thanks MoJo, you are right. Here's the section from the rule book:

"Double action, double action only and safe action pistols compete in Stock Service Pistol Division (SSP). Any gun that can be used in SSP can be used in Enhanced Service Pistol Division (ESP) or Custom Defensive Pistol Division ...

Sounds like I've got some good company in the waiting room! We may have to start singing that old Christmas song 'All I want for Christmas is my CHL...'

I shot in the SSP class (I think) with an H&K Compact 40. Someone mentioned that my gun should be ESP, so I'm not sure. The group hosting the event was Texas Tactical and there were ~30 shooters. My times were lousy, but it sure beat punching holes in paper at the range!

What a great time with a great group of people. I was pretty green, but everyone was very helpful and I learned a great deal. If you haven't tried IDPA yet, go for it. You wont' regret it!

A few things I would do different:
1. Bring a button up shirt to use as concealment
2. Bring at least 3 ...

I sent in my application 3 weeks ago and the status on the DPS website still says "Package mailed to applicant".

Sort of reminds me of waiting for Christmas as a kid!
