Credit reports, divorce records and medical records? Is there no end to the demand to surrender one's privacy in order to get a Texas chl? At this site it gives eight qualifications for getting a Texas chl: http://www.txchia.org/getchl.htm Somewhat more detailed is this site: http://chltraining.com/eligibility.html I am wondering if the bureaucrats in Austin have usurped the actual law that was passed in going beyond these requirements ...

Why does DPS require these to be answered?
I went to this site: http://www.txchia.org/cr-80.pdf Now my question: When I tell DPS my dl number, name and address, why is it necessary for them to ask on this form my sex, my height, my weight and what race I am (why do they care if I'm Asian, black, white, multi-racial)?
