Well, my CHL expires in April. Finally got around to doing the online app, and scheduled my class for 2/2/13. Hopefully I get my renewal plastic back in time.

I guess we'll see!

Search the forum for the Wally-walk rules. There's good reason it has to be Wally world, or it's not official.

I finally got my plastic today. I'm so thrilled. Given the day I've had today, though, my Wally-walk will have to wait. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Make that 1 day!!! Status changed this morning!

From what people are reporting, it seems apps received by DPS in early-mid February without errors are being issued finally!! My status just changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active".

After reading the wally walk rules ...

Call on Monday (Simone's day off) so you can talk to the other guy. Be persistent. He'll be helpful as he can.

So, since they received my packet on 2/11, maybe my status will change in 3 days???

Called again Monday and spoke with a gentlemen @ DPS. Said by the end of next week it should be issued.

Well, I called DPS today and spoke with Simone. According to Simone, my background check is still being "processed; but everything else looks really good." She seems to think I should have my plastic "by the end of the month." A far cry from the 'few days' to issue that I had previously been told ...

I would definitely wait until they've had it for 60 days. They get a little testy otherwise and will just blow you off.
