Texas State Campus Carry

not sure if this has been posted yet, but I just became aware of it. Perceptions appear to be changing.

Re: Lone Star Tea Party

I heard what they plan on doing at the NY Tea Party to deal with these guys is to have people set up with signs that have an arrow on them and says, 'Left wing Infiltrator', and they will be on the lookout for these guys, and will stand near them with the arrow pointed at them. Especially the ones ...

Re: U.S. Senate is going nuclear...

So according to this, no one can say that Joe Wilson was wrong. He was lying, plain and simple, and thanks to Joe for having the guts to stand up!

Re: Rude NRA Phone Solicitation

I received one of these calls about a month ago. I was VERY surprised that they would not accept no as an answer. I ended up hanging up on her. Afterward I thought about what I would do if approached in a dark parking lot with the same request for money, and the same refusal to accept no as an ...

Carry in Texas state park?

According to the CHL training I received , there was not direct mention of not being able to carry in a state park. I found this link http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/parkinfo/rules_and_regulations/ which leads me to believe that I can carry as long as the gun is not loaded, but can't legally have ...

Just about out of here

Today I checked the web site expecting the same old 'Processing Application...' screen. To My surprise it said 'Application Completed - license issued or certificate active'. It only took 82 days since they received my application. I have spent the last 82 days studying on CHL, training at the range ...

Re: May Applications

I called DPS yesterday just because I'm impatient, and they said "everything looks good". They told me they are waiting on the background checks which they said could take a couple weeks. Almost there. "The Computerdude" gave me some hope. Our timeline is running about the same.

Re: May Applications

I do not know who I spoke to. It was a male who sounded like he was really unexcited to speak to me, however I was very impressed at the fact that the phone was answered immediately. I was not put into a hold queue at all. I bet they get hundreds of these calls per day.

Re: May Applications

Yesterday I hit the 70 day mark since they received my paperwork in Austin, so I called to ask if there were any problems with my application. I was told that my application looked good, no problems, and that it was sent to imaging on 7-23. I should have asked more questions, but I didn't. I assume ...
