I see it almost daily here in Johnson county. My Sheriff is a western wear only guy 90% of the time. We have City and County Detectives and LEO's that OC some with and with out Visible badges.

The Rangers are always OC ing but if you live in TX long enough you KNOW a TX Ranger when you see one ...

You're right, this bill wouldn't affect most students. But, there's quite a few staff/faculty that would be allowed to carry.

I Highly recommend getting some kind of a motorcycle jacket. Not only does it not ride up while riding to reveal whatever you might be concealing, but it also prevents road rash in the event of a unexpected dismount.

I seriously thought about talking with my former employer (Private Higher Ed institute) about allowing me to carry on campus. I went through a couple drafts of a letter, but never actually turned it in.

I carried last year. Walked up and handed my CHL to the guy with the wand before he started. He looked at it 3x then called for DPD.
I waited about 10min, they wrote down my info and told me to have a nice day. That was all.
Brother figured out what was going on, but the friend with us had no clue ...

I'm going to avoid IL. The problem arises in that I want to go through Ohio and West Virginia. Neither of those states honor the TX CHL.
WV allows unlicensed open carry.
OH requires the gun to be out of reach and/or disassembled.

Here in a couple weeks, I'll be heading to Michigan on my motorcycle, TX has reciprocity with Michigan so no worries there.
