It says you can start the renewal process 6 months before expiration. Do they go by the exact expiration date or calendar month? For example, let's say mine expires on Jan 15th, can I start the process on 16 July or 1 Aug? I am hoping it is the latter because it is not giving me the option going by ...

Wow, I didn't even know there was a hunter education course. I had to Google it to find that people born before Sept 2, 1971 are exempt.
