This came as part of a trade package and belonged to a former coworker's fiancee'. I'm not much interested in .380s at the moment but I figured with the ammo that came with it, I could just as well sell it.

Oh great question, but you're not going to like the answer. It is a carbine length gas system. Updating OP to reflect that as well.

If I was going to spend a grand on a factory built rifle, it would probably be a RRA LAR-15 Entry Operator2. It comes with an insane amount of extras (though I think it is a limited run sale).

2-stage trigger, chrome BCG, 2 30-round mags, your choice of one of 4 types of rear sight assemblies, ERGO ...

Saw a deal on slickguns.com; dealer offering SAA lowers for $55.99 + $9.99 ship...if anyone is searching for a somewhat cheap lower. I mean you can get SAA lowers for $59.99 year-round if I'm not mistaken, so its not that big of a deal.

Be advised, PSA appears to be having a sale on their lower parts kits. Looks like $5 off the basic LPK (fire control group, pistol grip, trigger guard, etc) and MOE LPK (same thing but with MOE pistol grip). $44.99 and $54.99 respectively.

MOE lower build kit is on sale at $124.99 down from $139.99 ...

LPKs available from PSA for the same price as the lowers :P

$99 at PSA gets you a complete lower build kit (classic M4 telescoping stock, A2 grip, mil-spec buffer tube assembly, LPK, firecontrol group, etc)
$139 gets you the same thing, but replace the M4 furniture with Magpul MOE furniture.
