My vote is suicide. The happen a lot more than you would think and many don't get any publicity. This serves as a reminder to be incredibly careful when enjoying our sport. This afternoon, a man was shot in the head and died. There aren't too many details, but word is that the sheriff's office collected all the guns that were in use at the time and that video surveillance was in use.

Oh yes, just to add a little to all the "I wonder" thoughts that go on. DPS showed status of "mailed" on Jan 29th, however, the postage was marked (meter mail) on Feb 2nd and I actually received it on Feb 3rd (San Antonio). So...not sure what the "real" status is when they mark it "mailed".

You January folks all seem like you are getting your stuff back soon. I mailed mine in on the 17th of Dec. and I should receive it today hopefully.
Glad the system is working faster in Austin. The only reason I can think the Dec. apps are taking so long is because of the holidays

Oy vey! I can't believe how fast this was. Again, this was a RENEWAL, so that may be some of the reason it has been so fast. If I get it Tuesday, then that would be 14 days from the day they signed for it at the office! Way to go DPS!!!

I have been trying to get on there for about 2 weeks. When I emailed DPS, the told me the renewal system is down and they don't have a "fix date". They replied very quickly and I had a renewal package in 3 days! Much better service than I experienced 4 years ago!
