Personally, I don't know which is worse:

Waiting on the plastic or sitting in your boat on a lake, watching hundreds of fish signals scroll by on your fish finder, and not getting a single bite.

Definitely waiting on the plastic. You can write the fish signals scrolling by as the little ones you didn't want to catch anyway.

I mailed my packet on the 9th and haven't received a PIN. I just emailed CHLS, maybe that was a mistake? Do you think emailing will slow my process down?

At worst they will ignore your e-mail.

Did you mail the application with a return receipt?

It is possible that your PIN got lost in the mail. Your e-mail may shake that loose.

Otherwise they're just slow because of vacations or swamped with applications.

I just got my PIN via email. It took 1hr 2min for a response to my email. I must say I am VERY pleased with that.

So.... I just checked my status and its "Processing Application" = )

No, how many times a day can I click refresh and hope for a different screen? LOL J/K Someone once told me that good things come to those who wait.

So... I.. Wait...

I mailed mine on 8/9. They received it 8/13. Nothing has changed on the website. Still says Packet mailed to applicant.

I emailed this morning for confirmation that they did actually receive my packet. They replied Yes on the 14th and they are waiting for the background results.

The website is not updating I guess.

I actually mailed my regular, stamped snail-mail. Oops! Oh well, apparently our post office system does work from time to time.

LOL I sure hope so for the voyage of my plastic on its way home! I wish there were an option for them to overnight it to me... or hotshot! LOL
