Should I call DPS ?

Post by j1132s »

A couple of months ago, I helped my wife send in her application and it's been 60 days already (and that's working days). Her application status is still "processing application" on DPS's web site.

I'm wondering if I should give them a call to mention this? Has anybody gotten anywhere by bringing up the 60 days deadline ?

The reason I ask is because when my application was in the system, things seem to only move when I called DPS. (E.g. I called for my pin # and the lady said it is "going out today", I called about my application being in "processing application" at 45 days, the lady said "it is done and going out today".) However, this doesn't seem like the case any more, each time I called regarding my wife's application, the DPS lady just tells me that it is being processed w/o being any more specific.

You may not be able to get more information than that from her. It might be more productive to have your wife call...

Go ahead and give them a call. The worst that can happen is they say it is still processing or it might help speed the process.

yes, call em. Also remind them that you "believe" that the process has taken more then 60 days. ask, "is there a time limit"? or "should I receive a letter informing me of the DELAY"? ,

Grant it mine took over 100 days, Things started rolling when I started to ask that question.

Well, called DPS and the status is "waiting for license to be made" or something like that. I thought they just make them on the spot like the driver licenses... guess maybe not.

It also took nearly 10 minutes to get a person. I think DPS CHL department service isn't as good as a year ago when I was applying. I'll send them a feedback ;hopefully this may help improve service for future applicants.

Well, the license came today. I guess the DPS lady wasn't kidding when she said it is being printed at the time of call.
