Clayton Cramer is a 2A friend who used to have a site with a name
something like "Clayton Cramer's Defense Blog".
At that site he published news reports from all over the US that involved
self-defense shooting incidents involving GG's with weapons, defending
themselves, their homes, and/or innocent 3rd parties.
The original site appears to have gone away, and now the self-defense
stories are published by Clayton and co-author on the above link.
These make for great reading. Many of the news reports though, don't
mention the brand and model of firearms used. For me, that would make
them a little more interesting.
You might want to put The Armed Citizen on your "Favorites" list.

It's the same website. It's just that the old URL — http://www.claytoncramer.com/gundefense ... ogger.html — now resolves to this new domain name.

Thanks for the link doc!
I wish "our" forum had a direct link to it near the top of the page so that "newbies" could find it. Of course we are fortunate to have our members seek and post a lot of these incidents on their own.
In a previous life I worked in an old "guns and scuba gear" shop and I found the owner's stash of ancient "American Rifleman" magazines from as far back as the early 1960's.
The first page was "armed citizen" reports.
Very little has changed - well, except for storys involving "stun guns". I'm pretty sure back then those were only found in comic books.

Heh. There's another thread around here where someone proposed starting our own "armed citizen" forum. At that time I pointed out the "Armed Citizen" blog (again - I have referred to Clayton's work several times) and suggested it as an alternative. As I recall, the powers-that-be said there was concern about the number of forums already, it was being considered....which I took to be a indirect way of saying "we're gonna pass on this one." I wondered how long it would be before it popped up again.mctowalot wrote:...I wish "our" forum had a direct link to it near the top of the page so that "newbies" could find it. There's probably meat for some sociological study of internet forums about repeating topics. For gunny forums in general, it would include 9mm vs.45, hi-caps semis vs. revolvers as primary SD guns, AR-15 vs AK-47, "printing"... Me, I am hi-cap 9mm semi-auto AK-47 who tries real hard to avoid"printing."

Yup, I got the old "we are considering it but..." response as well.
I like your study idea, but something tells me we are the only forum in the universe with a "Concealed carry while drinking in the postoffice restroom" thread going!
One thing that really stands out in my memory of those old "armed citizen" storys is that they would actually print the race of the badguy(s).
