Why do I carry a firearm? Because it's easier than carrying a Police officer

OOPS
I am planning a trip in the next couple weeks to visit San Antonio, my concern with carrying concealed around town, is places that may not allow concealed carry and have a metal detector or some other form of search at the entrance. Would i normally have an opportunity to check my firearm and retrieve it once i leave or will the "security" personnel immediately contact the fuzz to haul me off and mess up my vacation? Not to mention really make the 'ol Lady angry...

Re: OOPS
it sounds like you'll probably be doing quite a bit of sightseeing on foot, is that correct? if you'll be taking a vehicle then disarming yourself isn't as much of a hassle. if you have a general idea of the places you'll be visiting, do some research ahead of time at Texas 30.06. this website isn't a comprehensive listing of ALL properly posted places but i would imagine the most common and most frequented tourist spots will be listed if they are properly posted.
most likely not... you'll just need to plan ahead and know which establishments you plan to visit are properly 30.06 posted or otherwise (legally) prohibit concealed carry. remember, "gunbuster" or "no guns allowed" signs aren't legally enforceable. if you enter such an establishment with your weapon on you, the worst that can happen is they'll ask you to leave. now if you refuse to leave, then you can be arrested for trespass (maybe someone else can chime in with the exact charge, i can't remember at the time) but not for unlawful carry.CombatWombat wrote: Would i normally have an opportunity to check my firearm and retrieve it once i leave

As has been proven in many other threads, an ill-informed officer can arrest you and ruin your day.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!
