Global Security

Post by snatchel »

Out of curiosity, has anyone here, or does anyone work for a Global Security company? I'm talking about companies like Blackwater, Global Security Solutions, etc. I received a phone call from a recruiter with Global Security Solutions who was asking me some background questions from my military days (licenses, training, security, operation experience) and even asked me to fly in for an interview.

Haven't told the wife yet because I don't think she would be kosher with me dropping out of school to be a merc, and to be honest-I'm not sure how I would feel doing that line of work. I interviewed with Blackwater when I separated, but turned down the job. Pay and benefits were amazing(500 a day while deployed in combat zones, plus exceptional benefits) but I didn't want to deploy again and again.

I can't remember the name of the guys that were in my FOB in Afghanistan (DynaCorps?), but they essentially spent their day ostensibly training nationals and having nothing to do with security. That was a relatively cushy-job for an in-theater civilian-gig in my opinion. That is the limit of my personal experience with those types.

Ditto. I remember backwater from the different FOB's, and they almost always were doing exec logistics or VIP logistics. I just don't know much about GSS....
