pricing of a 1967 Browning A5 "Light 12" shotgun
I have a neighbor that wants to sell this gun. It is a browning "Light 12" autoloading 12g shotgun. I would say it is close to 100% condition....honestly it looks like it has never been fired. I am not very good at judging value of these type of guns. What would be a safe price to buy it at? The wood and bluing are flawless and beautiful. Any ideas? Thanks for the help on this one guys....

I'm not an expert on these at all but there is one online for $500.

I can't help on the pricing.
But I can tell you there are much better (shoot-able) guns made today.
That shotgun is a beautiful piece of work (my Dad had one) but it kicks like a mule! Even with butt pad, it really takes a toll on your shoulder.
Newer gas operated recoil system guns are much more comfortable to shoot.

I have a 72 A5 20ga. with vent rib barrel. Kicks pretty good. Will never part with it was my dad's.
I figure it's worth around $600.00. Sentimental value is worth much more than that.

If your Auto-5 is kicking hard I suggest you download and read the manual.
There is a bronze friction ring (part of the recoil system) that has to be re-positioned for heavier loads. Also, pay particular attention to which way each ring is supposed to face.
After putting a box of shells through my father's Sweet Sixteen (also an Auto-5), my shoulder was a bit sore. Then I realized the ammo I was using was rated at 1300 fps. I re-positioned the rings and shot skeet with it at our last DFW get-together. I shot two boxes that day with no sore shoulder.
The Auto-5 is a real pussycat if you have it set up correctly.

While I have never personally seen a "Salt-Wood" A5 shotgun, that firearm was produced in the era (1966-1971) when various Browning shotguns and rifles were made with the infamous "Salt-Wood" stocks/forearms.
It wouldn't hurt to check for pitting rust anywhere the wood contacts the metal (just for peace of mind).
