Ex-cons to become protected class --more of the left agenda
Thug love in San Francisco ---where else? In deference to Loadedliberal I used the term "left" instead of liberal, but this proposal illustrates the left's love and affinity for criminals, if not their hatred for the rest of us.

This is especially good since they are releasing a large group of them.
Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.

I understand where they are coming from as I know a few ex-cons who are trying to get right with the law and have a hard time because if their past but the way I see it is you make your bed you lie in it, I do think after a perscribed amount of time people should have a chance to get their record sealed after some time has passed and they demonstrate their ability to live by the same rules as everyone else. Making felons a "protected class" is ludacris as it's like saying "even though he killed my chickens let put the fox in charge of the hen-house because its not his fault" it is their fault they are hindered by their past if I want to hire someone for a job and I have 2 applicants of equal experience I will go with the non-felon every-time.VMI77 wrote:Thug love in San Francisco ---where else? That's San Francisco lunacy for you. Don't miss the politics of that area at all.

I find this anything but funny. It makes me want to do something about it.Texas Dan Mosby wrote:this proposal illustrates the left's love and affinity for criminals, if not their hatred for the rest of us.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

They did their time and paid their debt. Would you prefer they stay homeless and jobless? Do you WANT to leave them no option for making in life than no crime?

If an employer may discriminate between applicants who earned a college degree and those who did not, they should also be allowed to discriminate between applicants who have a clean background and those who do not.jordanmills wrote:They did their time and paid their debt. They've done no such thing as simply by being behind bars. That euphemism has always bothered me.jordanmills wrote:They did their time and paid their debt.

Spoken like a true Texas "liberal". In CA you'd be a right wing extremist.loadedliberal wrote:I understand where they are coming from as I know a few ex-cons who are trying to get right with the law and have a hard time because if their past but the way I see it is you make your bed you lie in it, I do think after a perscribed amount of time people should have a chance to get their record sealed after some time has passed and they demonstrate their ability to live by the same rules as everyone else.
