Which night sights?

Which night sights?
I recently purchased a Springfield 1911 (PX9151LP). This particular model doesn't come with factory night sights. I'd like to have a set installed, but can't figure out where to start. I've looked for Trijicon, Meprolight, and XS. All I can find is information for the XD.
Any 1911 gurus have a recommendation?

Edit: It looks like their links are not coming up with anything, however I would give them a call and see what they have, you can also arrange for them to install them.

Re: Which night sights?
I'd recommend looking into the Heinie sights. I've heard nothing but good things about them - I've pretty much decided to put a set of them on my own 1911 when I get some extra money/time.
Re: Which night sights?
You can also go about this another way by visiting the web sites of the major night sight manufacturers.AndyC wrote:You need to establish the dimensions of the sight-cuts in the slide - I'm pretty sure that the rear is a regular Novak-cut, but the front sight might be non-standard and specific to Springer - so definitely heck with them, and also ask if they have any recommendations themselves.KC5AV wrote:I recently purchased a Springfield 1911 (PX9151LP). Once you've done that, call all 3 manufacturers of the sights and see if they have sets that will fit the dimensions you got from Springer.
With a little poking around, you can usually found they've got a chart somewhere that matches their sight models to the slide cut dimensions on the various common brands of guns.

Re: Which night sights?
FWIW, I am very happy with the Mepro's I recently installed on my HK.
Very easy to aim in both daylight and darkness.
My first set of night sights, so, I don't have anything to compare them to, but, I'd definitely buy them again.

Oops! Thanks, PawPaw.Pawpaw wrote:Excaliber wrote:Here are the Trijicon models for the Springer 1911.Those say they are for XD and XD(M) pistols.
I got careless and copied the wrong URL.
Here's the one for the Novak style sights - these are Meprolights, but Trijicon makes a similar set.

Thanks guys. That gives me something to look at. I guess the keyword I kept leaving out was Novak.

That's my aftermarket choice too, but I've got Meprolights on my Kimbers and they're also quite satisfactory.KC5AV wrote:Definitely my preference.gigag04 wrote:Trijicon.
