Still Stuck in Background Check

Hello all, I've been lurking on the forums for a while, so thought I'd go ahead and post. Mailed my packet and did fingerprints on 1/3. They have everything, but status has been stuck in "Background Check" for weeks. Very frustrating, particularly since I've never even had so much as a traffic ticket in the past 30 years....:( What the heck takes them so long to do background check, when I can buy, say a Sig P238 (like I did yesterday), have the check run, and walk out of the store in less than 1/2 hour!!???!!! Didn't think I'd be in any kind of rush when I took the CHL class, but now it's kind of like waiting for water to boil - just have to keep checking

It is weird how some people get their licenses in 25 days, and others get 'stuck', but eventually, not that it is a consolation to you for now, they do get unstuck!

NICS doesn't include fingerprints so it's no surprise it's faster. NICS also doesn't have a provision for a local records check by a human, but the CHL laws do. GC §411.176(b)
