Trolls And Trolling

Post by Art S »

Like I have said before I am new to this forum world. There have been many times I was thinking of posting questions, but did not because of this troll / trolling stuff I read about. I don't want people to think I am a troll or trolling.
Can someone help a dumb rookie out. what is this troll/trolling stuff? :confused5 :bigear:

Trolls we see on this forum are generally anti-gun agenda people.
Trolls are often "one-hit-wonders" where they post an inflammatory post, get everyone riled up, and disappear.
Usually you can "see" a troll by clicking a profile and search a user's posts to see if it's a trend...
If I hadn't asked stuff, I'd have probably spent a lot more money learning things a harder way.
Feel free to ask questions.

Lots of us will give answers, Some could be correct.
I might even say stuff .. I often do ... my opinions are free and worth what you pay for them.
Lots of people here know more than I, but I like to type stuff.

Yep. Most Trolls get banned around here pretty quick. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

And if you're a newbie to CHL, don't be afraid to ask questions in the new to CHL forum...questions are what its there for. :cheers2:

And as you hang around, you'll learn there are some people who aren't actually trolls, but contribute so little its worth it to put them on ignore anyway. "rlol"

This is probably one of THE most "troll-free" forums I have found on the web.

One of the most civil as well.

You know, that is one of the things I have come to like so much about this forum...trolls ARE usually spotted VERY early on...however, "newbies" with real questions, even if they may seem trivial or whatever, are usually handled in a thoughtful and decent manner...and foul language just ISN'T tolerated.

Troll questions easy to spot most times.
" Hey all, Im new, i live in CA (tx forum?) does anyone know how to get high capacity clips shipped in to CA? I want to buy a few dozen. Thanks, just need the company name I'll take it from there"

"so I was hearing I could get a licence to own a concealed gun from another state, and it wold be legal here in TX where I live (IP resolves to IL), I need one of the no background versions, , well cuz there was this mistake a long time ago, and the TX background check is to harsh, Thanks"

and sometimes less easy.

" So i have this guy asking about getting a CHL, but he is blind " "rlol"

Of which i admit, I was wrong on, he was not a troll, just an instructor looking for information. :txflag:

So ask, enjoy, read... tons of great folks on this forum that will bend over backward to help, educate and point you to an answer or solution. :thumbs2:

Hmm, not my definition of a troll.

Sorry but I am a troll. At least that's what my son says.

Definition: Troll (n) 1. an older male who when friended on facebook by a younger man (or woman) looks at his or her female facebook friends to see if any of them are hot. 2. an older male who when friended on facebook by a younger man (or woman) tries to friend the hot young women he or she is friends with on facebook. (also see definition for "in really bad taste") 3. an older male who friends on facebook, b list actors, race car drivers, sports figures and other semi famous people just to see the hot females that friend this person. (you really cannot imagine unless you see it with your own eyes)

I'm in a ten step program at the moment.

Trolls are basically people who go trolling(as in fishing) for a response or reaction. They want to fool people or get them riled up or simply derail a thread. They have no intention of actually contributing anything usefull.
