St. David's North Austin improperly posted
I went to St. David's North Austin today and at the door I went in, they had the old 30.06 sign. Correct size, had spanish, but it had the old 4413 language. Inside the doors they had a sign that said state law prohibits carrying firearms on the premises. That one made me chuckle.

So is the 4413 language considered an improper posting? Sorry if this has been addressed

The '4413' posting was the original version of 30.06 sign before the standards were changed to the current 30.06. The current standard is really the only legal version of sign. However, there is no case law on if a business can prove that they had the sign there before the change and just because they didn't change it to the new version, that it is not proper notice. I do know there are a couple of police departments that have said they believe locations posted with the old signs are validly off limits and if caught carrying there they may arrest you and let the DA and Judge figure it out.

Exactly what Keith said. Personally, I can't afford to be a test case.

Volunteer there twice a month and disarm every time. Great rehab floor BTW

Thanks! Been on here a few times. Thanks for the info. Good to know what some departments say about it.Keith B wrote:Welcome to the forum.evanrocks wrote:So is the 4413 language considered an improper posting? Sorry if this has been addressed

Episcopal, not Catholic. That explains it.
