My Gun Control Rant

Post by The Mad Moderate »

Like clockwork, the drumbeat of gun control is growing ever louder by the day, everyone from your neighbor to celebrities to Senators all the way up to the President are calling for bans on "assault rifles" and "high capacity clips". I cannot for the life of me understand how these people are living in lala land, there are two groups, the libtards who think that had the AW ban been extended under bush things like this wouldn't happen, and the "control" people who could care less and want to use the Auora shooting to take away more rights. It shouldn't surprise me but it does but Obama in three days went from saying he wouldn't push for more gun control to saying the evil AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers and not "criminals", is anyone who owns a assault rife now a criminal under Obamas definition. Make no mistake is Obama is reelected gun control will be on the agenda should would likely make the 94 ban look like the wild west, and the irony is its not even about the guns, its about control. They know that it would do nothing to reduce crime or save lives but they want it anyways, and while it'll never pass in the US I believe the UN treaty would still drive up gun and ammo prices domestically and thats the point. If ammo prices and gun prices were to double or worse there would be a lot of people who wouldn't be able to own guns simply because of the massive cost involved, one of the argument for gun control I have heard repeated over and over is the "well regulated militia" argument where they assert that the founders meant for only militia or national gard troops to have guns, which is easily debunked by elementary logic, why would the founder intend for only the government to have guns when the rest of it sat the RIGHT of THE PEOPLE to keep and bare arms shall NOT be infringed. To these people The Constitution is something that is easily edited or pushed aside, they need to be pushed aside no matter the party, I don't care if its a republican or a democrat, push for more gun regulation and you will lose my vote. It has to be all or nothing, if we give up an inch they will take 100 miles.

Just like with the grossly misnamed "Affordable Car Act." It's all an act. The real behind the scenes motivation of the Obamanation is control. Over what you eat. Who you get your healthcare from. Whether or not you self-insure or buy from a corporation. What gun you buy. How much ammo you should be allowed to own. Whether or not your speech is hate speech. Over race relations. Over all of it.

The democrat party today is the most illiberal party in many generations.

What I see being pushed in a New "Assault Weapons Ban" bill:
1: Ban on Semi-auto long guns with pistol grips and detachable magazines (No bullet button "loophole").
2: Ban on magazines with more than 10 rounds of capacity.
3: Multi-firearm reporting requirements.
4: Straight up registration.
5: Reporting of ammunition sales.
6: No internet ammunition sales.

The opposition will be willing to sacrifice #4 in the name of compromise, and will be willing to do the same to #5 except for "Large quantities" like 1000 rounds. I think we can stop this type of legislation, but we will need to work hard to keep it from being snuck in on other bills or being pushed through "back door" channels like executive fiat (I mean executive order).

Nothing makes a "statist" happier than a pit full of dead peasants, with the rest cowering in fear...and it doesn't matter if that's a hardcore "rightwing" or "leftwing" statist. The point to disarming "the people" is to be able to CONTROL them, that is, tell them what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and for how long...and if they don't like being told, well, then force is applied to coerce them. Its the opposite of the rule of law. The man in the WH is disliked/despised by so many of us because we have seen through his guise of "being a moderate" and see him for the statist that he truly is...do I mean that I believe he will be machine-gunning people in the streets tomorrow? Of course not, not even if all the guns were gone...but we'd be a LOT closer for someone to be able to do that someday IF the guns were all gone...and they'd only have to walk the trail blazed by this guy.

sjfcontrol, you waited too long .... remember, that was ...Cash for Clinkers http://www.cashforclunkers.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
over 700,000 old, gas-hungry vehicles being traded in for an equal number of efficient, brand-new cars and trucks,
That caused gas prices to drop so they are again 25 cents a gallon like they used to be, and employment to skyrocket so everyone has a job, as more cars needed manufacturing and top Car executives to stop wasting money on jets and vacations and take pay cuts and say no to "retention" bonuses rewarding poor management skills exhibited in the past.... remember?

I would say if the Guns are killers, so is the speed-rocket bikes, 500+ HP Chevy and Ford street cars, how about killing the Cadilac CTS-V. It is a killer machine, no? It is the nemesis of the green movements and the number #1 target of the Anti global warming fanatics.

What should I say, Cars kill more than guns? Are people so blind?

No, they are so brainwashed. First, our education system is designed to try to prevent people from thinking for themselves. Independent thinking is the enemy of the Collectivist state. 2nd, the brain washing about guns rampant. Try to have an intelligent, reasonable conversation with people from Northern NJ and you'll see exactly what I mean. Lastly, gun haters and many "greenies" appear to be incapable of cogent thinking.

It is the lack of common sense thought process that makes it OK to kill one species of owl to save another species of owl. I once had a good friend from Fl who told me that "if just one person suffers from emphysema, all coal burning must be banned. She would not entertain that thought that the person may have emphysema from any other cause. When I asked her if everything that hurt or killed people should be banned, she replied "absolutely." I asked her about people who are allergic to shellfish and whether the rest of us needed to be banned from eating it because of them. Somehow, the subject got changed.

This picture sums up perfectly why I'm 100% opposed to "AK-47s just being in the hands of soldiers".

*Warning, it is a pre execution photo. No gore, but still might be disturbing for some viewers. You've been warned.*
