Minnesota Police Chief Turns to Public for Ammo Handouts

Post by JJVP »

Would you loan your ammo to your local PD if they ran out? Or would you tell them to kindly call DHS to see if they’d be willing to help?

I would not give them my ammo.

I have friends who are LEO's. I would let them have some to train with.

Wouldn't do it.

Someone needs to brush up on the 7Ps.

Do you think that the PD would give you ammo if you need it?

Let me rephrase that.

Do you think that any government agency whether local or up to the national level would give you ammo?

Not a chance.

Nope. Not gonna give anyone ammo.

They have far greater resources to obtain ammunition than I do, so no, I wouldn't give them any of my ammo.

And if you "loaned" them ammo, would you ever get it (well, replacement ammo) back?

Not a chance.

Depends on the circumstance. If the Feds were marching DHS troops into Texas, I might hand out a few mags to any PD with me trying to hold the border.

When I worked at Academy they had a .50 Ammo can they would fill with returned ammo and donate it to the local police. most of it was perfectly fine with a round that failed to fire and the people would take it back and get their money back. I can't tell you how many times i wished they would let the employees have it.

For me it would depend on the circumstances.
Little of this mess is my local LE's fault. They do a dangerous job to help keep me safe, I can cut them some slack if I'm able.

I'd lend them some in exchange for copious amounts of range brass.

No. I don't shoot it myself right now, why would I give it away?
