vresp.com

Post by jmorris »

Starting a couple of weeks ago I've been getting mail that I assumed was spam from vresp.com but all of it was firearms related. glaco-gunleather@ winchester-ammo@ and some others. I'm wondering if I signed up for something at the NRA convention that I didn't realize the consequences of. Anybody else getting these and know where they originated from?

Hmm. I suddenly think I know. The last thing I went to was the Liberty gun show in Live Oak where I signed up for an AR-15 drawing, which required my email. Anybody else?

Yeah I hate that. I created a simple junk email account through hotmail just to use for things like that. Also what I use for craigslist.com

Yeah. Never do that. Same kind of "scam" at the malls where you fill out a card for a chance to win a car.
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

I was hoping for better from the people running the show.

Email lists are big money makers, assume that any giveaway is doing it simple to build an email list. That said, I filled out many things at the convention myself and have not had any spam as a result so some companies are more respectful than others. I actually complained to my other half about using my real email but was lucky not to get put on any spam lists.
