One of these recordings was the #1 performing single of 1969 and #73 on Billboard's "100 Greatest Song's Of All Time".

From Wikipedia,"Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies was produced by Jeff Barry, and the song was originally released on the album Everything's Archie. The album is the product of a group of studio musicians managed by Don Kirshner. Ron Dante's lead vocals were accompanied by those of Toni Wine (who sang the line "I'm gonna make your life so sweet"), and Andy Kim. Together they provided the voices of the Archies using multitracking.
When the song was initially released, manager Don Kirshner had promotion men play it for radio station execs without telling them the name of the group. Only after most of the DJs liked the song were they told that it was performed by a cartoon group.

Doctor Cleve was my brothers cardiologist! Cool guy, great backstory, grew up in Jennings, La.

This is one of my melancholy mood songs:

I put the actual song up because the music video is rather choppy and not that well done IMO.

Thanks for the songs.

I hadn't seen this Cleve Francis video. I "discovered" him way back in a small shop where you could listen to CDs prior to buying them.

I have never listened to Dierks Bentley. He has a good voice. Thanks for introducing him to me.

The Ink Spots: "I don't want to set the world on fire" and "If I didn't care"

These guys were soooooo gooooooood!

You can listen to these two songs on YouTube.

You're welcome. I like his voice quite a bit.

Here's another song of his I really like.

This one is good too. Yes all three of them were mainstream country singles and I make no apologies for that. :)

Gerry Goffin passed away today [February 11, 1939 – June 19, 2014].

He and his [former] wife Carole King wrote many songs together.

This was one of them sung by the Shirelles - "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"

I recently discovered this and it has become one of my favorites. It speaks to the values on which this country was founded.
