Just a FYI on processing times. Class was 3/8. Mailed 3/9. Received at DPS 3/10. Still "Processing" as of today.

Lookie what I found on the website tonight (04/12)!

03/02/10 - Packet mailed
03/04/10 - Packet delivered
03/20/10 - PIN# received, "Processing application"
04/12/10 - "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"

The sad part is I'm out of state for 4 days. Can't even stalk the mailman. The plastic will probably beat me home.

But at least the wait will be over.

I checked this morning and it was still in "processing application" status but I was inspired by AddyLO's post and checked again (as they seem to do these things in batches) and there it was:

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

Congrats on the status change. I checked AGAIN and I am still "processing".

To get through the waiting time, I have been shopping for CHL accessories (holsters, belts, ammo, extra mag holder, t-shirts from http://www.lifelibertyetc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, and a "tactical pen") At this point I can't AFFORD to be processing much longer!!

And yes, the "tactical pen" was an impulse buy. It is basically a pen that looks tactical, and is supposedly built to be used as a weapon. I will admit it is more "tacti-cool" than tactical, but I do feel more protected in my suit and tie during the day with it in my shirt pocket.

Forgive my rambling....checking my status 50 times a day is getting to me.

I check at least 15 times a day LOL, and yes, its getting rough, but I figure based on all the others, mine should be in the next week or so, and yours should be any day.

I also emailed them today to check on the status and make sure that my discharge certificate would be enough to support my veteran status. They emailed me back and said that it was a valid substitution for my DD214.

Sadly, they didn't give me any update on my application and the website still shows "Packet mailed to applicant". I'm hoping it will change to "processing" in the next few days... I'm hoping I can make it through the fingerprint check before they shut down to support the census (4/28 - 05/03). Assuming all goes well and processing time holds, I'm going to guess that I'll be ready for the Wally Walk by May 12th.

I'm not liking how folks who sent their packet in after me, already have plastic in hand...

Woohoo... status updated to "Processing Application"!

Now what are the chances it'll be complete before the week break for the Census workers? I know, I know, now I'm getting greedy!

I just jumped out of my chair! I checked the website this morning first thing...

2/28/10 - Took class
3/1/10 - Mailed Packet
3/3/10 - Packet Received (according to USPS)
3/25/10 - Processing Application (took them long enough!)
4/13/10 - Application Completed - license issued or certificate active (WOOT!!!)

Now stalking mailman....
