I disagree--with all the stuff being brought out NOW about each of the Republicans---who ever gets the nomination--there won't be any "October surprise" from the Democrats. It will all be old news--discussed ad nauseum.

I'm not convinced that Obama has it in the bag yet, but there is a very real risk of that happening. I will say this....Ronaldus Maximus would be appalled and rolling in his grave if he knew what republicans are doing to one another right now. We have a president whose policies are the biggest existential threat to this nation of any president's in history—a bigger threat than Al Qaeda, Iran, China, North Korea, or any other foreign nation or terrorist organization you care to mention—and republicans are busy hacking at one another with broadswords instead of turning them on Obama. Absolutely shameful. We don't deserve the win, but it is absolutely imperative that we get it. Things do look bad.

Another big headline.....big everywhere except the lamestream media.....is that South Carolina republican voters only have a 14% approval rating of the media after ABC's dirty tricks campaign with Gingrich's ex-wife (SOURCE). Just to put things in perspective, by the way, one of the popular leftist memes is that Gingrich divorced his ex-ex-wife on her deathbed. The TRUTH, as reported by all concerned including the allegedly dying wife (who wasn't dying at the time) is that she asked him for the divorce, and he merely returned the signed papers to her while she was in the hospital for a cancer treatment. One of her reasons for wanting a divorce is that Gingrich was unfaithful to him. The woman he was having an affair out of wedlock with at the time, leading to his wife's asking for a divorce? The exact same adulteress who now accuses him of serial adultery and of being unfaithful to her. The hypocrisy is beyond belief. In the meantime, ABC's overtly political hack job on behalf of the democrats fails to mention that little detail.

I agree, and I'm not by any means defending Gingrich's infidelities. I'm only saying that the recent "scandal" is a case of the kettle calling the pot black.

Why is that? Is it that, or is it because the Republican infighting is sensationalist news and the people will feed on sensationalism and/or bad news and TV audiences mean TV ratings which means TV sponsors. I think I've just answered my own question. It's not about who wins or loses, it's about the media doing it for money and we have a name for those who would prostitute themselves for money, don't we?

That said, the GOP had better start getting their stuff together PDQ and settle on a candidate and an agenda that the responsible American voters can relate to and embrace or their will be another four years of living under the rule of the current POTUS and his lackeys. There is much more than just a POTUS election at stake here, ladies and gentlemen. We must support the Republican candidate, even if he is not our first choice. To do otherwise is a vote for the current POTUS.

{FWIW, I first voted in 1964. I've never been more concerned about my country's future than I am now. Unlike many of y'all, I ain't no spring chicken. Many of you will have to live with the consequences of this upcoming election a long time. Good luck and God bless}

The whole thing could be avoided if the Republicans nominate a conservative but they seem committed to giving Romney the nomination because it's "his turn" this year. The herd of rinos can rant and whine and cast blame all they want, but the first step to recovery is admitting they have a problem. There's still time but the clock is ticking.

I do not think it was McCain's time and that is why the Republicans put him up. I think he was a good choice.
He ran a really stupid campaign.

I will say it was Obama's turn!! When he gave the keynote speech in the Dem. convention a few years
before his oratory skills did create a stir. I heard many say then that he would be the first Black Prez. back
then.

As luck would have it he ran in 2008 and won. Why did he win? His oratory skills coupled with his promises.
Promises to change America, promises to give people this and that. Now that resonated very well with the
"Gimme Generation". He mobilized the youth vote [most of ho never read the papers or watched the news],
my adult kids as an example. He won about 93% of the Black vote. He won the Hispanic vote. So now we have
him in there destroying the country, as he promised to do. "I will fundamentally change America". He has and
will finish the job when he gets re-elected. The Republicans are cutting each other to ribbons and the Dems are laughing.

Who will the reps put out there? Ron Paul may win Texas but not much of anything else. I hope he does not run
as a third party candidate. That will surely spell doom!! How about rick Perry? At first he sounded good but went
downhill fast. How about Gingrich? Probably the smartest individual this country has in politics but he scares the hell
out of many voters and wil never be elected. Who is left, Romney?

Obama wins a second term!!

When surveys indicate that democrats outnumber republicans 80% to 20% in the newsroom, it is surprising that even democrats believe that the press is unbiased and neutral. But it boggles the mind that 14% of republicans (in South Carolina) have a favorable opinion of the media (SOURCE). That's just stupid. The figure ought to be 0%. It just goes to show that there are some dumb republicans too.

I regretfully agree with your treatise and I surely hope that your prediction does not come to pass.

Now we have Gingrich won one, Romney won one, and Santorum won one. None of them seem very presidential.

I try hardest to look at the positive of the situation and what I consider a huge positive is 150,00 more Republicans voted this primary than in 2008. That means the base knows the importance of this election. If the Republican party can get through this and then turn a positive tide towards the nominee I think it spells doom for Obama. The Ronnie Paulie crowd will be the key. From other forums and postings from his zombies they will stay away from the polls. That basically makes Paulie an agent of Obama if he doesn't throw his support for the Republican.
