Current Status - "Background Check : Under review" - end quote.

Patience is a virtue, one supposes. I have high hopes for being complete by July, when I go on vacation.

Mailed the husband's and my applications today. Was pleased to find this board...

Ugh. Got an email this morning that my fingerprints were rejected by "the state or the FBI". Will have to schedule a second try.

Noob here. Its good to see Im not the only one who seems to be waiting a while for them to input all my info.

CHL Class: 4/14
Online App/Reg: 4/16
Forms Sent: 4/23
Fingerprints: 4/26

Still says the state is waiting on all required documents to arrive. Im hoping my plastic shows up before the end of the month. Have a few goodies on layaway and dont want to have to do any more background checks.

Welcome to the forum and the waiting room

The background check for the goodies might be faster than waiting for the plastic.

Enjoy your wait there are alot of great people here and great information.

5/4 update..All info has been received and validated and liscence is pending the outcome of my background check. Getting very excited. I expect only 2more weeks

That may be wishful thinking. The background check can take at least 14-21 days then another 5-14 once it is mail.

Thanks for bringing me back down to earth! Was talking with a good friend of mine who said after they received his packet, it was only two more weeks till his plastic came in.
I guess its different for everyone. Waiting is tougher when you dont have any patience!

My wife and I mailed our packets out together on Thursday, 19-APR-2012. I've been checking daily for updates and finally saw a change this morning.The screen I'm looking at doesn't show dates, it's just a checklist of sorts. I'm assuming everyone gets their dates from just checking the website daily?

First Status Change, 8-MAY-2012

Just checked my status...."Background Check: COMPLETE"
Waiting only for them to make the plastic now. Very excited!

Is it normal for it to take two to three weeks for DPS to acknowledge receipt of your checklist? I see a lot in the 2+ week range, but also saw one that was mailed and acknowledged received in two days. What gives?

It usually takes a couple weeks for DPS to acknowledge. Those that are just a couple days are ones that send certified or some other way that confirms delivery.
