I've been calling the Walmart nearest my office 2-3 times a week for the last month. Today they actually had .380. In the 15 minutes it took me to get from my house to the counter, it was already gone.

Wal-Mart had .380?!?!

Where, and how much was it?
Duh! If I had taken the time to read up I would have seen where and how much.

One of the ammo sellers at GRB today had 45 Colt for $50 for 50 rounds, range stuff, I said no thanks, he said he hits all the Walmarts around him every day at 7AM and then resells it at the shows and understood why I didn't buy it, but said he has it and will sell it before the weekend. Pretty frank talk, it's supply and demand, as long as people are willing to pay $$$$$ for it, it's not going away.

I wonder if the sales person could/would take your Credit Card # and hold it until you get there?

I went to the range today to practice with my Ruger 22LR target pistol and the box (50) of ammo I had for it had a price on it of $1.94. Have a box (50) 25 auto price ont it was $6.97. Don't we all just long to be back in the 80's? My most recent purchase of 22LR was a box of 50 $11.00 I think we are being charged for the little plastic racks inside the box that holds the shells apart. My little cheap box of ammo just had them stacked in there,no seperation. Do I really care if my ammo is seperated by plastic, or foam or whatever they decide to use as a filler? By the way, what is the shelve life of ammo? Evidently 22LR lasts til you shoot it.

It's not the Walmart way. I was pretty hacked to find it was gone, but to be honest I would cleaned the shelf had the situation been reversed.

The guy at the gun counter at the Academy in McKinney was kind enough to hold a couple boxes for me while I drove over from Frisco. I don't know if they'll do that as a rule but he was pretty cool about it. I can't remember what his name was and he was gone by the time I got there. However, my two boxes were sitting behind the register with my name on them.

Cabela's has Herter's .380ACP brass in stock for $149.99 for 500 rounds and they have a $20 coupon for any order over $100. I just ordered 500 rounds and the total cost (tax/shipping) to Katy was $156.90. I hope this stuff works. I am desperate like everyone else.
