Cool, theres hope for mine! I mailed mine on Dec. 21 and am starting to get a little anxious waiting on my status change.

Also of interest is that yesterday I received a letter saying that my fingerprints needed to be repeated ( like I did that in the beginning) so I guess that I believe the website when it says "mailed" more than I believe the letter that I just received. Will see how long it takes from mailed to permit in hand. Also emailed DPS about refingerprinting letter and waiting for a response. They probably have been snowed with applications.
Will post when I receive permit.
Total time from online application to mailed was 7 weeks, one day.

An observation for all that are still watching for updates after mailing docs or while background check is under review: based on my experience so far it looks like they update those two categories in batch mode once weekly on the weekend. And then once background check is finished they update nightly real time.

They want certified judgment documents and all charging instruments, you have to get them from the county or city clerk where the arrest occurred. Make sure they are certified, I unfortunately have a lenghty background from my rebellious teenage days so I will be going through the same thing. I sent all my certified docs with my packet when I first mailed it,still haven't even gotten the update yet that they have received my stuff so I'm not so patiently waiting to see what they say. Good luck!

Thank you for all your help. I ended up getting a call back from Texas way earlier then I thought I was. So Documents have been sent to me by mail so now just get to wait until those show up at my door then. I got lucky and I get to fax the docs right to my worker and she said as long as everything is staright with the docs I should see my license in two weeks from the day she gets them. So fingers crossed on that one. Cant Wait.

DPS site shows CHL is mailed, so that puts it right at 30 days between packet sent to mailed to me. Keep the faith fellas.

Wow that was quick in comparison to most others including me.
Maybe they are trying to get caught up with all of the existing and expected new applications coming in.

CHL process completed, 40 days from mail box to mail box.
