Are there holster requirements for guns carried under this bill?
I haven’t seen it mentioned, but it’s a good question—particularly since holster carry is specified for licensed open carry.
All references in 1927 remove the "belt or shoulder" language from "holster", making ankle holsters legal open carry (if it passes).

Thank goodness. Do you know how hard it is to find a belt holster to go with my Speedo?

If this passes, how will the new laws be disseminated to instructors. Anyone think we would have to do a online class and or recertification. And yes, I understand constitutional carry does not extend to LTC, but we do teach the basic Texas Gun laws.

In the past, instructors have alternated between submitting a written test and having to travel to a class. Last session, it was the written test. This session, we will likely have to travel. Last time we travelled, I think it was somewhere around Georgetown. The time before that, the folks from DPS set up multiple classes all around the state. There's no telling what they will offer up this time.
Shooting qualification is done with another instructor.

Yep, the last instructor "in person" re-ups were in Georgetown. The facility was nice but the presenters were pitiful. There had not been very many significant changes (other than approving online courses) and the presenters were not really up to speed. While I have been to many DPS schools over the past 26 years that were top notch, that last one was disgusting. With all of the "legal speak" in the permitless carry bill amendments, if it does happens to pass, I sure hope they have more competent presenters than we had in the fall of 2017.

It would be in Florence, TX. I know at least one of the presenters was good last time around.

I'll keep my LTC, however if somebody (Wife, Girlfriend, Sister) Doesn't feel comfortable going through the LTC but wants to CC and ask you to teach them what they need to know, are you going to tell them no?
Oh if wife and girlfriend want you to train them to shoot, I suggest you have two separate classes!
Here's a toast to our wives and girlfriends... may they never meet!

Senate analysis is available online. You can see the side by side comparison of the passed senate version and the passed house version.

I see that it is listed on the Items Eligible For Consideration list for today. does that mean the house will discuss at some point today?

Yes, they can. They don't have to.
